Robert L. McCormack Public Adjusters has been serving clients in Milton for many, many years. We also have quite a bit of family in Milton and consider Milton our second home.
Why Is Public Adjusting Necessary in Milton?
Milton suffers the same weather variations we all do here in New England. In 2015, Milton and the surrounding Boston neighborhoods of Dorchester, Mattapan, and Hyde Park, and the towns of Quincy, Canton, and Randolph, experienced record snowfall and all the resulting damage. In spring 2018, Milton was hit by three Nor’easters in quick succession. Trees fell, roof shingles blew off, and homes flooded. Milton is one of the windiest cities in the United States which is no surprise given its proximity to the official windiest city in the US, Boston.
We have been happy to guide our clients in Milton through the insurance claim process, whether it is weather-related or not, for over forty years.
A Little More About Milton
Incorporated in 1662, Milton is part of Norfolk County. With about 27,000 residents, Milton is only about nine miles south of Boston and is accessible to the city by the MBTA or up Route 93.
Because of its proximity to Boston and the town’s water power sites, Milton became an industrial town boasting paper and sawmills, and the first chocolate factory in the United States, the Walter Baker Chocolate Factory. The Baker Chocolate Factory buildings are now condos and apartments. Milton is also home to America’s first piano factory. In 1801, Josiah Bent started Bent’s Cookie Factory in Milton, selling water crackers, or “hardtack” crackers, to sailors and fishermen for long voyages. The building still stands.
Milton is the birthplace of the 41st president of the United States, George H.W. Bush.
