A Little More About Easton
Incorporated in 1725, Easton has a long history. George Washington stayed there during the
Revolutionary War. In 1803, Ames Shovel Works started providing shovels for the Union Pacific
Railroad which made the west accessible. Easton is home to many historic buildings including
several by famed architect HH Richardson, and parks landscaped by Frederick Law Olmsted.
Easton is the home of Stonehill College.
There are about 23,000 people living in Easton. Located 28 miles south of Boston and 28 miles
north of Providence, Easton is convenient for commuters to both of those cities. The historic feel and beautiful landscape of Easton make it a great place to live.
